Author and creator of Glorious Joy
I am a Journalism and Religion student at the University of Georgia, and I created Glorious Joy with three purposes in mind:
1. To spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all nations
“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age’” (Matthew 28:18-20).
2. To display God’s unsurpassable glory, honor, and worth through the gift of His son
“For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ” (2 Corinthians 4:5-6).
3. To encourage a deeper desire to pursue and adore the Lord above all things
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9).
The name Glorious Joy is inspired by 1 Peter 1:8: “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.” I hope to encourage you to have a belief in Jesus Christ, but also that you might be filled with the inexpressible and glorious joy that is found in him. Make him your treasure– believe in him, love him, and find the joy that comes in a relationship with him.
